Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji (1) pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) terhadap kemampuan menulis esai, (2) pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) terhadap kemampuan menulis esai pada siswa yang memiliki tingkat motivasi siswa belajar tinggi, (3) pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) terhadap kemampuan menulis esai pada siswa yang memiliki tingkat motivasi siswa belajar rendah (4) pengaruh tingkat motivasi belajar siswa terhadap kemampuan menulis esai. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, yang akan dilakukan dengan metode kuasi eksperimen yang melibatkan 3 variabel yaitu model pembelajaran CIRC sebagai variabel bebas (variabel independen), motivasi belajar sebagai variabel moderator, dan kemampuan menulis esai sebagai variabel terikat (variabel dependen). Penetapan sampel dengan teknik Simple Random Sampling yaitu menggunakan teknik secara acak tanpa memerhatikan strata yang ada dalam populasi. Pada pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan instrumen angket motivasi dan tes menulis esai. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji beda (t-test). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat (1) pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran CIRC terhadap kemampuan menulis esai. (2) pengaruh model pembelajaran CIRC terhadap kemampuan menulis esai pada siswa yang memiliki motivasi tinggi (3) pengaruh yang signifikan model pembelajaran CIRC terhadap kemampuan menulis esai pada siswa yang memiliki motivasi rendah (4) pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap kemampuan menulis esai

Abstract
This study aims to examine (1) the effect of the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on the essay writing ability, (2) the effect of the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on the essay writing ability of students who have a high level of motivation. students learn high, (3) the effect of the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on the ability to write essays in students who have low levels of learning motivation (4) the influence of students' motivation levels on the ability to write essays. The approach used in this research is quantitative research, which will be carried out using a quasi-experimental method involving 3 variables, namely the CIRC learning model as the independent variable (independent variable), learning motivation as the moderator variable, and essay writing ability as the dependent variable (dependent variable). the sample using the Simple Random Sampling technique, which is using a random technique without taking into account the strata that exist in determining the population. The data collection was carried out with motivational questionnaires and essay writing tests. Data analysis was carried out by using a different test (t-test). This study shows that there are (1) the effect of applying the CIRC learning model to the ability to write essays. (2) the effect of the CIRC learning model on the ability to write essays on students who have high motivation (3) the significant effect of the CIRC learning model on the ability to write essays on students who have low motivation (4) a significant effect of learning motivation on the ability to write essays
