Jurnal Silva Tropika is an open-access journal that contains scientific information on research results. Basically, this journal discusses tropical forest resource management. This journal is published twice a year and covers ecology and forest management, forest cultivation or silviculture, and the technology and utilization of forest products. Besides that, it also discusses forest protection and forest conservation, including forest ecotourism.

The first edition of Jurnal Silva Tropika was published in 2016. Initially, this journal had the initial name with Zwagery in 2013. But then, in 2015, this journal's name was changed to Forests and Environment Journal or JHTL.

JHTL was changed into Jurnal Silva Tropika one year later with ISSN Print No. 2615-8353 based on SK no. 0005.26158353 / JI.3.1 / SK.ISSN / 2018.03 - 23 March 2018 and ISSN Online 2621-4113 based on SK no. 0005.26214113 / JI.3.1 / SK.ISSN / 2018.06 (starting edition Vol. 2, No. 2, June 2018).
