Pengaruh Stabilisasi Geopolimer Berbahan Dasar POFA Terhadap Perilaku Kepadatan Tanah Gambut
The Effect of POFA-Based Geopolymer Stabilization on the Index Density Behavior of Peat Soil
Abstract
Tanah gambut merupakan jenis tanah yang memiliki kandungan organik, kohesi rendah dan kadar air yang tinggi sehingga daya dukung tanah gambut menjadi rendah. Diperlukan perbaikan terhadap tanah gambut sebelum bisa dilakukan pekerjaan konstruksi diatasnya. Stabilisasi menggunakan campuran geopolimer berbahan dasar POFA (Palm Oil Feal Ash) menjadi salah satu metode yang dapat dilakukan. Kandungan silika dan alumina pada POFA ketika direaksikan dengan campuran senyawa NaOH dan Na2SiO3 akan menghasilkan produk dari reaksi polimerisasi berupa gel aluminosilikat yang berperan sebagai pengikat partikel-partikel pada tanah gambut yang dapat mempengaruhi struktur dan kekuatan tanah gambut. Variasi kadar geopolimer-POFA yang digunakan adalah 0%, 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25% dengan waktu pemeraman selama 7 dan 14 hari. Sedangkan rasio natrium hidroksida (NaOH) dan natrium silikat (Na2SiO3) yang digunakan adalah 2:1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan campuran geopolimer-POFA mempengaruhi perilaku kepadatan tanah gambut. Berdasarkan hasil pemadatan, nilai kadar air optimum (OMC) menunjukkan penurunan dari 78,03% menjadi 37,26%. Sedangkan berat kering maksimum (MDD) menunjukkan peningkatan dari 5,300 kN/m3 menjadi 7,411 kN/m3. Dengan demikian, penggunaan campuran geopolimer-POFA sebagai bahan stabilisasi tanah gambut terbukti mempengaruhi struktur dan kekuatan tanah gambut.
