Author Guidelines

1. General Information

  • e-SEHAD is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing original articles, reviews, case reports,  in environmental health and disease-related fields.

  • Manuscripts must be written in English and follow the journal template.

  • Only unpublished and original manuscripts that are not under consideration elsewhere will be reviewed.

2. Manuscript Types

e-SEHAD accepts the following types:

  1. Original Articles 

  2. Review Articles 

  3. Case Reports

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts must follow this sequence:

3.1 Title Page

  • Title: concise, informative, maximum 20words

  • Author names 

  • Affiliations (Department, Faculty, Institution, Country)

  • Corresponding author email

3.2 Abstract

  • 250-300  words

  • Structured into: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion

  • Keywords: 3–5 words, separated by semicolons

  • Written in English

3.3 Main Text

Organize the manuscript into:

1. Introduction

  • State the background, rationale, gap, and study objective.

2. Methods

  • Research design, setting, population, sampling, instruments, data collection, data analysis, and ethics.

3. Results

  • Present findings clearly, with tables or figures when needed.

  • Tables must be numbered and titled above; figures titled below.

4. Discussion

  • Interpret findings, compare with previous studies, explain implications and limitations.

5. Conclusion

  • Summarize main findings and key recommendations.

4. Formatting Guidelines

  • Manuscript must use the journal template (.doc/.docx).

  • Font: Cambria, 11 pt, 1.5 spacing.

  • Margins: 2.5 cm each side.

5. Tables and Figures

  • Number sequentially (Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, etc.)

  • Place near the paragraph where they are first mentioned.

  • Tables: no vertical lines; max width fits page.

  • Figures: high resolution ≥ 300 dpi.

6. References

  • Use Serbian Archives of Medicine Style (Numbering).

  • Minimum 25 references for original articles.

  • At least 80% from the last 5 years.

  • Prefer Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals.

  • Use reference managers (Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote).

  • With active DOI Link / website source

Example formats:

Journal Article:
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), pages. https://doi.org/xxx

Book:
Author, A. (Year). Book Title. Publisher.

7. Plagiarism Check

  • All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software.

  • Similarity must be < 25% (excluding references, quotes, and small matches).

  • Manuscripts with significant plagiarism will be rejected.

8. Peer Review Process

  • Single-blind peer review.

  • Each manuscript is evaluated by  reviewer.

  • Authors must revise according to reviewer comments and submit a response letter.

  • e-SEHAD charges:

    • No submission fee

    • No APC (Article Processing Charge)

    • No publication fee

11. Copyright

  • Articles are published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

  • Authors retain copyright.

12. Archiving Policy

  • Articles are preserved in PKP PN and OJS server backups.

  • Authors may archive preprint, postprint, and published versions.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
