About the Journal

Indonesian Journal of Sport Science and Coaching (IJSSC) is a journal that provides an important forum for exchanging ideas to enrich educational theories, policies and practices in Indonesia and throughout the world. IJSSC is a biannual e-journal, open access, peer-reviewed, local and international. We accept unpublished, high-quality and original research manuscripts in Indonesian and English, which are produced from quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methodologies that are relevant to education. IJSSC is published twice per year by Jurusan Pendidikan Olah Raga dan Kepelatihan FKIP Universitas Jambi. All h articles that appeared in IJSSC are peer-reviewed.

Focus and Scope

The focus and scope of this Journal is on the human sciences, defined and applied to sport science and coaching. IJSSC  accepts unpublished, high quality, and original research manuscripts either in English or in Bahasa Indonesia. These issues include, but not limited to, practices, policies, and research in education from early childhood education to higher education covering the areas of:

1. Sport education
2. Coaching
3. Physical Activity, Health, and Exercise
4. Physiology and Nutrition
5. Social and Behavioural Sciences
6. Sports Medicine and Biomechanics
7. Sports Performance

 

IJSSC will not accept research articles or manuscripts submitted for publication elsewhere.

IJSSC does not publish book reviews, program evaluations or research articles merely explaining programs, courses, or personal experiences. All research articles submitted must be written in English.

Peer Review Process

Research articles or Manuscripts submitted to IJSSC are initially reviewed by the editors for general fit with the IJSSC focus and scope and for the writing quality. Only those research articles meeting the IJSSC focus and scope will be sent to reviewers for a double-blind review. Review time is typically 4-6 months. Two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate the research articles or manuscripts on the basis of their expertise. Reviewers are expected to return their reviews within 4 weeks. A third reviewer will be appointed in case one of the reviewers disagrees upon the quality of the research article for publication. The assigned reviewers evaluate the research articles by using a standard manuscript evaluation form. They are required to treat all the information in the research articles as confidential. Views of the assigned reviewers serve as a guide to IJSSC editors to make a final decision on the research articles. Final decision always belongs to IJSSC editors. Those manuscripts that are judged by the editors and assigned editors to be inappropriate are rejected promptly without external reviews.

The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:

Accept as written without any revisions

Accept with minor revisions (a second round of review is not necessary) 

Accept with major revisions (a second round of review will be necessary)

Reject (the paper is not suitable for publication)

IJSSC publishes 2 issues per year. in Maret and Oktober every year.

Archiving

Indonesian Research Journal in Education utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. https://www.lockss.org/

Open Access Policies

Publishing in IJSSC is free of charges.

IJSSC provides direct open access to its content. Our publisher, Jambi University, the Graduate School, Doctoral Program in Education, agrees to the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of Open Access:

“By “open access” to [peer-reviewed research literature], we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.”

The non-commercial use of the article will be governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license as currently displayed on Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. 

2. Author(s)' Warranties

The author warrants that the article is original, written by stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).

3. User Rights

IJSSC: Indonesia Jornal of Sports Science and Coaching is to socialize / publish articles for free. Under the Creative Commons license, IJSSC: Indonesia Jornal of Sports Science and Coaching allows users to copy, distribute, display, and do work for non-commercial purposes only. Users also need the attributes of the author and IJSSC: Indonesia Jornal of Sports Science and Coaching about distributing works in journals and other publication media.

4. Rights of Authors

Authors retain all their rights to the published works, such as (but not limited to) the following rights;

• Copyright and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights,
• The right to use the substance of the article in own future works, including lectures and books,
• The right to reproduce the article for own purposes,
• The right to self-archive the article,
• The right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal (IJSSC: Indonesia Jornal of Sport Science and Coaching).

5. Co-Authorship

If the article was jointly prepared by more than one author, any authors submitting the manuscript warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to be agreed on this copyright and license notice (agreement) on their behalf, and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this policy. IJSSC : Indonesian Journal of Sport Science and Coaching will not be held liable for anything that may arise due to the author(s) internal dispute. IJSSC : Indonesian Journal of Sport Science and Coaching will only communicate with the corresponding author.
