Abstract

This article is based on empirical study of feature writing in journalistics classroom of udergraduate school. Journalistics is an optional course in Indonesian Language and Literature Teaching at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in Universitas Jambi. The study reveals that at the first year, students ability in feature writing is weak. At the second year there is significant improvement in the writing skill. Related to the completeness of 5w1H, moral message, and writing style, it can be stated that the feature writing skill is classified as very good.
