Abstract

ABSTRACT

Background: Increased drinking water needs of the community will also encourage the growing popularity of the use of drinking water depots Refill (DAMIU). One indicator of the quality of potable water such as pH and TDS. Source of raw water from the depot may be related to the pH and TDS. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the source of raw water with pH and TDS of drinking water that comes from drinking water refill depot in the city of Jambi.

Method: This study is an observational study,PH and TDS examination of 93 drinking water refill drinking water depot in the city of Jambi. Information from the raw water source depot obtained through interviews. The data were tested using the testChi-Square.

Results: Raw source of drinking water refill depot in the city of Jambi generally derived from tap water (41.9%), with a pH in the unfavorable category as much as 78.5%, TDS in both categories as much as 92.5%. The statistical test of the relationship between the raw source water with a pH of the water that comes out of refill drinking water depot in the city of Jambi shows the P value 0.650 and the relationship between the raw source water with a TDS indicates P value 0.126.

Conclusion: There was no relationship between the raw source water with pH and TDS water from drinking water refill depot in the city of Jambi.

ABSTRAK

Latar Belakang: Meningkatnya kebutuhan masyarakat akan air minum juga mendorong semakin populernya penggunaan Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang (DAMIU). Salah satu indikator kualitas air yang layak minum diantaranya adalah pH dan TDS. Sumber air baku dari depot kemungkinan berhubungan dengan pH dan TDS. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sumber air baku dengan pH dan TDS air minum yang bersumber dari depot air minum isi ulang di Kota Jambi.

Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional. Dilakukan pemeriksaan pH dan TDS air minum dari 93 depot air minum isi ulang di Kota Jambi. Informasi sumber air baku dari depot didapat melalui wawancara. Data yang didapat diuji menggunakan uji Chi-Square.

Hasil: Sumber baku air minum depot isi ulang di Kota Jambi pada umumnya berasal dari air PDAM (41,9%), dengan pH dalam kategori kurang baik sebanyak 78,5%, TDS dalam kategori baik sebanyak 92,5%. Uji statistik dari hubungan antara sumber baku air dengan pH air yang berasal dari Depot air minum isi ulang di Kota Jambi menunjukkan P value 0,650 dan hubungan antara sumber baku air dengan TDS menunjukkan P value 0,126.

Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara sumber baku air dengan pH dan TDS air yang berasal dari Depot air minum isi ulang di Kota Jambi.
