Persuasive speech is a potent instrument employed by the government to govern and firmly establish its ideology. The objective of this study was to analyze Joko Widodo's international speeches in 2015 and 2022 to identify the Indonesian ideology values conveyed in his speeches and examine the expressions of these values that could serve as representations of the Indonesian ideology. The researcher employed qualitative research as the chosen research design, specifically emphasising critical discourse analysis. This investigation employed Van Dijk's textual methodology, which specifically examined the macrostructure and microstructure of the text. The research revealed that in both addresses, Joko Widodo articulated 8 principles that signified four concepts of Pancasila. The ideological ideals encompass care, unity, diligence, egalitarianism, justice, resourcefulness, courage, self-assurance, attention, thoughtfulness, sincerity, kindness, and politeness. President Joko Widodo effectively communicated the attributes of the four concepts of Pancasila in his speeches presented in both English and Indonesian. These speeches successfully conveyed the virtues of the four principles of Pancasila.
2025-01-02T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Gatot Hadi Waluyo, Failasofah Failasofah, Delita Sartika https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/kal/article/view/38527 An Analysis of Illocutionary Act in “Frozen II” Movie 2024-12-07T12:31:43+07:00 Refina Wati revinawati04@gmail.com Siti Fitriani afifi9074@gmail.com Afiifah Al Rosyidah afiifah.rosyiidah@trunojoyo.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the types of illocutionary acts found in the main characters utterances in the "Frozen II" movie. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach as the research design. The data are collected through watching and transcribing the utterances of the main characters’ (Anna and Elsa) which contain illocutionary act. There are 103 data of illocutionary acts that identify and classify based on Yule’s theory (1996) into five types: representative, commissive, directive, expressive and declarative. The results show that the utterances are classified as representative with 46 data, directive with 41 data, expressive with 14 data and commissive with 2 data. From the total 103 data of illocutionary acts, representative is the most dominant used by the main characters. This occurs because this movie focusses about journey or adventure of the characters, which is more need to convey facts or statement of the characters. On the contrary, declarative type is not found in this study because declarative speech act tends to be used in formal or institutional context and does not used in adventure or fantasy movie.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis tindak ilokusi yang ditemukan dalam tuturan tokoh utama dalam film "Frozen II". The method used was quantitative with a survey approach, involving 123 respondents. Data was obtained through a questionnaire containing 12 multiple choice questions and 3 essay questions, using a Likert scale to measure respondents' attitudes and opinions. The results showed that most respondents felt anxiety when watching intense scenes in thriller movies and thought of bad scenarios more often. However, the impact on sleep difficulties and unreasonable anxiety was not significant. In addition, thriller movies affected the pattern of interpersonal relationships with respondents becoming more cautious in trusting others and more empathic to other people's emotional situations. Based on the Uses and Gratification theory, thriller movies are chosen to fulfill emotional and entertainment needs. The findings reveal how media, particularly thriller movies, can affect young people's psychological well-being and social relationships.
2025-01-02T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Widya Sandrila, Pitri Noviyanti, Erlita Zahrah, Kholis Ridho https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/kal/article/view/39218 Ragam Bentuk Hegemoni dalam Karya Sastra di Semenanjung Persia dan Asia Tengah: The Kite Runner dan the Thief of Baghdad 2024-12-07T13:07:18+07:00 Rifki Muhamad Fakhruddin rifki.fahrudin32@gmail.com Salsabila Zahran Galuh Putri Subawati salsabillazahran27@gmail.com Nurholis Nurholis nurholis@uinsgd.ac.id
This article discusses the forms of hegemony that appear in literary works in the Persian Peninsula and Central Asia. The study examined the intricate dynamics and transformations in the significance of Balinese greeting forms. The data were garnered from Balinese greeting forms found on YouTube video, TikTok, WhatsApp discussions, Balinese songs, and interviews conducted with students from Dwijendra Junior and Senior High Schools, as well as novice lecturers from Dwijendra University. Additional data sources included observations of greeting forms utilized in public venues, such as restaurants and small markets. Interactions between diners and waiters in eateries, as well as exchanges between customers and saleswomen in convenience stores were also documented. The research revealed two categories that exemplified the evolving dynamics of Balinese greeting forms: 1) BS_KK, consisting of mbok, bli/wi/kak, and adik or dek. 2) BS_KGP, comprising ci, aku, and kamu, and 3) BS_KBL, consisting of cong, cuk, and bro/brader.
2025-01-02T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 I Ketut Suar Adnyana https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/kal/article/view/38637 Analisis Oposisi Makna “Catatan Buat Emak” dalam Trilogi Novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk Karya Ahmad Tohari 2024-12-07T12:36:25+07:00 Moh. The aim of this study is to describe the lexical aspects of antonymy in the first part of the trilogy novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk “Catatan Buat Emak” by Ahmad Tohari, which was published in 1982. The object of this research is antonymy (opposition of meaning). The data in this research consists of utterances or dialogues between characters in the Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel, which contain oppositions of meaning along with their context. The source of the data for this study is the Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel by Ahmad Tohari. The data is then analyzed using the "distribution method" with the "direct element division" (BUL) technique, followed by the binary opposition technique. The results of the data analysis generally show that the types of meaning opposition that appear in the text of the first novel of the Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk trilogy include absolute opposition, polar opposition, relational opposition, hierarchical opposition, and compound opposition. Polar opposition is the most frequently used type of meaning opposition by the author, as the author often portrays the complexity of the characters' lives in a gradational manner.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menggunakan metode simak dengan teknik catat dalam mengumpulkan datanya. Employing a qualitative method and a descriptive-analytical approach, the research analyzes the short story's text and supporting literature to examine ecological perspectives, cultural values, and the conflict between agrarian traditions and modernity. The findings reveal that the short story represents agrarian symbols like rice, soil, trees, and life rituals as reflections of agrarian traditions, cultural identity, and the human-nature connection. The soil is portrayed as a metaphor for Mother Earth, while rice symbolizes life and the pride of agrarian communities. Additionally, the conflict between tradition and development reflects shifts in social values due to modernity. Agrarian symbolism in the story also highlights humanity's view of nature as a living entity with spiritual power while emphasizing the importance of maintaining ecological balance. This study significantly contributes to the understanding of agrarian symbolism in literature, particularly in the context of human-nature relationships, and offers a theoretical foundation for further studies on cultural and ecological dynamics in literary works.

2025-01-23T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Rosita Sofyaningrum, Dewi Zulaekhah https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/kal/article/view/40274 Pengaruh Bahasa Austronesia Terhadap Bahasa Daerah di Jawa Tengah 2025-01-23T14:31:13+07:00 Arya Mahendra Sinulingga aryamahendras123@student.uns.ac.id Chattri Sigit Widyastuti chatrisgtt@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the influence of Austronesian languages on regional languages in Central Java, particularly Javanese.
