THE APPLICATION OF DIRECT COUNSELING TO HANDLE UNDERACHIEVER STUDENTS OF SDN UTAN KAYU 01 PAGI EAST JAKARTA

Introduction: Research attempts to understand an overview of the effectiveness of directive counseling to handle underachiever students in SDN Utan Kayu 01 Pagi East Jakarta.
Methods: The study used a single subject design. The research design used was an A-B-A design with a tied variable measurement procedure. The analysis in graph is intended to get an idea from time to time that could be used to clarify the results of a specific intervention. The subject in this study is a student of 3rd Grade in SDN Utan Kayu 01 Pagi East Jakarta.
Result: On baseline (A1), behavior in a school where we are not performing our duties, has increased in the intervening phase (B) and the baseline (A2) is the number of tasks completed between two and four tasks. To see how far he can maintain a concentration of the lesson, at the intervening stage (B) and the baseline (A2) the ability to maintain a concentration of the lesson is increasing, taking between 14 and 26 minutes. Subject is experiencing some difficulty in socializing, at the intervention stage (B) and the baseline (A2) showd that it has decreasing.
Conclusion and Recomendation: From the results of this analysis, it is concluded that the intervention by using directive counseling has improved. It is therefore expected to be constantly developed by researchers or school parties in the community.
