Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze law enforcement against crimes of violence against wives at the Sarolangun Police and to identify and analyze obstacles in law enforcement against crimes of violence against wives at the Sarolangun Police. The research method used is an empirical juridical research type. The results of the study show that law enforcement against crimes of violence against wives at the Sarolangun Police, namely the obstacles in enforcing the law against crimes against wives at the Sarolangun Police, namely the domestic violence rules included in the victim's complaint offense itself (its own legal factors), lack of reports from the victim of domestic violence, the problem of proof and the lack of gender sensitivity of our law enforcement officers (the law enforcement factor), the position of women in society (the societal factor), and the patrilineal culture that considers women to be submissive to men, in this case a wife must be submissive and obedience to husband results in domestic violence as a natural thing that happens in family life, with reasons to educate, violence is legalized by culture (cultural factors).
