https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/jlasts/article/view/29658

Conversion of agricultural commodity planting, such as the conversion of rubber crops to palm oil crops is significantly increased in Indonesia, especially in Banyuasin Regency. In some cases, this increase in conversion is due to the annual decline in rubber prices, which has led to lower farmer incomes and regional economic growth. This research aims to determine and analyze the conversion of rubber crop commodities to palm oil in Banyuasin Regency based on price, productivity, and financial ratio analysis. The method used was descriptive analysis focusing on three main variables: price trends, productivity, and financial ratio analysis for the two commodities, including comparing production costs, income, and profitability. The results show that rubber prices have decreased significantly over the last ten years, while palm oil prices have not. The financial ratio analysis shows that palm oil has a better ratio value than rubber, which means that the palm oil business can continue to survive and develop consistently and promisingly.
Ias Marroha Doli SiregarChristian Yosua Salomo Aritonang

2024-03-072024-03-0711813The Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD) Communities, Their Institutional Transformations, and Their Impacts on Environmental Changes (Research on SAD Community Around TNBD)
https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/jlasts/article/view/32006

The Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD), a semi-nomadic group living in the forest, has been resettled by the government police in Jambi Provinces. This research study analyses the impact of the SAD resettlement on their environmental interactions with oil palm plantations. It also clarifies how economic and ecological changes have affected SAD life and their values. Methods include Focus Group Discussions and direct interviews with SAD groups living in Kutai and Singosari at Pematang Kabau Village. The result found that the economic changes have led to SAD engaging in activities like planting rubber inside the area of the National Park and working in an oil palm plantations company on the boundary area at the National Park Bukit 12. Education is crucial for SAD, 90.14% of SAD mentioned that they need education for their families. Environmental issues persist, such as poor water quality, because the SAD has been unable to adjust to the changing environment.
Rosyani RosyaniHauser SchaublinStefanie Steinebach

https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/jlasts/article/view/32007

This research aims to know the diversity of the genus and the level of colonization of AMF in the rhizosphere of the Jelutung rawa (Dyera lowii Hook.f.) which is intercropped with the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in Jati Mulyo Village, Dendang District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. The study used exploratory descriptive methods, with sampling using purposive sampling techniques. The study consists of several stages, namely: soil and root sampling, AMF spore identification, and root colonization. The results of the study showed the genus AMF in the rhizosphere of the Jelutung rawa (D. lowii Hook.f.) which is intercropped with the oil palm (E. guineensis Jacq.) namely Glomus, Acaulospora, Gigaspoora, and Scutellospora. The AMF colonization rate is 100%, and this is categorized as very high.
Upik YeliantiSuri Margi UtamiMuswita Muswita

2024-03-072024-03-07111926Utilization of Abandoned Plantation Areas for Crop Livestock Integration: Review
https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/jlasts/article/view/32011

An uncultivated plantation is an abandoned land caused by factors limiting the carrying capacity of the land and the completeness or condition of the plantation infrastructure so that the condition is overgrown with weeds and shrubs. The plantation area in question is an area that has not been attached to land rights and already has a permit/concession/business license that is deliberately not cultivated or not utilized. Indonesia has a plantation area of 26.5 thousand hectares, and 4.5% is an abandoned land that is not utilized. Thus, it is necessary to control this plantation land by government regulation. It can be utilized optimally by the community and the state. This land can be utilized by the crop-livestock integration approach.
Yuni PrasetyaniEka Sri WahyuniRatu Putri Ganesa
