POTENSI LAHAN DI DAS BATANG PELEPAT UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN PERTANIAN

ABSTRACT
Land degradation as impact of agricultural practices is one of some land use impacts that unsuitable
with land capability. The objectives of this research are identify land characteristics and analysis land
capability in Batang Pelepat watershed to agricultural development. The research was carried out by survey
method based on land unit. The results of research showed that land in Batang Pelepat watershed consist of
23 land unit and had variously land capability class, i.e. II, III, IV, VI and VII with variously limiting factor.
The limiting factor that was found consist of moderate good - moderate bad drainage (d2 – d3), slope is 15-
30% (I3) to >45-65% (I5) and low - high erosi (e1 – e5). Therefore, agricultural development in Batang
Pelepat watershed need supported by application of fertilizing and soil and water conservation techniques.
