The method of implementing community service is carried out by empowering the community through a problem solving cycle approach. The first stage starts from problem identification, problem priority, brainstorming, village community deliberation and then intervention. The results of community service are quite good, the activities run smoothly as seen from the people who are active in identifying health problems, namely diseases that come from animals, namely rats, mosquitoes and flies. The priority of the community problem is the prevention of a rat-borne disease, namely leptospirosis. The intervention was carried out by catching rats and facilitated by the service team by distributing 20 mouse traps. The eradication of rats has been carried out and the community is committed to carrying out these activities continuously. It is hoped that the local health center can facilitate leptospirosis prevention activities by providing assistance to the community so that these activities can continue.

Fitria Anggraini, Aprianti Aprianti Copyright (c) 2021 Jurnal Salam Sehat Masyarakat (JSSM) https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/14562 Mon, 11 Jul 2022 00:00:00 +0700 Edukasi Dan Pelatihan Senam Kaki Diabetes Pada Kader Dalam Upaya Pencegahan Penyakit Diabetes di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sengeti https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/14620
Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) is still quite high at the Sengeti Health Center. This is due to an unhealthy diet. The habit of people consuming high fat and sweet foods and the lack of community participation in the use of integrated service posts (posbindu). Efforts that can be made to overcome these problems are through education and training of cadres to do diabetic foot exercises. This community service was carried out at the Sengeti Health Center as many as 12 health cadres from each work area. This service activity was carried out by 3 lecturers and 5 students. The results showed that there was a difference in the mean knowledge of cadres from before (8.83 ± 0.937) and after education (9.92 ± 0.289) with a difference value of -4.168. In addition, there was an increase in skills both during training and after training. The need for monitoring and follow-up activities in the community.
La Ode Reskiaddin, M. The implementation of personal hygiene in the Suku Anak Dalam is still very minimal, so there is a risk of contracting non-communicable diseases such as diarrhea, malaria, intestinal worms, and hepatitis B. The absence of significant changes in health behavior from year to year has an impact on increasing morbidity rates in the Suku Anak Dalam. Therefore, assistance and empowerment are needed in optimizing personal hygiene gradually and sustainably due to characteristics, lifestyle, and lack of knowledge so that it is difficult to implement clean and healthy living behaviors. The target of this activity is the Suku Anak Dalam school age group in Bukit Suban Village, Air Hitam District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province. The methods used in personal hygiene activities are brainstorming, role playing, health education, and the Movement to Embrace the Dreams and Aspirations of the Children Within (GEMPITA SAD). From this activity there was an increase in personal hygiene knowledge obtained from the pre-test and post-test with the results of 27.5% to 60% of the Suku Anak Dalam school age children who already knew about personal hygiene and could practice it properly and correctly.
Dinda Oktafia, Danu Pendawa, Rakhe Maihanda, Siti Mashirotul Khoiriyah, Siska Septiani, Dinda Oktafia, Asparian Asparian Copyright (c) 2021 Jurnal Salam Sehat Masyarakat (JSSM) https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/16546 Mon, 11 Jul 2022 00:00:00 +0700 Edukasi Penerapan Protokol Kesehatan COVID-19 Di SMAN Titian Teras Abdurrahman Sayoeti Kabupaten Muara Jambi https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/15889
The spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is currently increasing, and it is very easy for transmission to occur, especially in an environment that is a center for gatherings. During this pandemic, schools are encouraged to do online learning, but there are some schools that are allowed to do face-to-face learning, one of which is SMA Titian Teras. This becomes very risky for an increase in the transmission of the Covid-19 virus in schools. Efforts that can be made to overcome this are education about the application of the COVID-19 health protocol. This education aims to increase knowledge and practice for teachers, educators, and students at Titian Teras High School in preventing the spread of the Covid-19 disease. This service is carried out at Titian Teras High School with a target number of 20 teachers/students/educational staff offline. The composting activities carried out by students in their respective homes were monitored by the team through videos and photos of their activities posted on social media, namely Instagram @pengabmas_fkik and the hashtag #salamsehatcintalingkungan every weekend. Another result of this activity is an understanding of household waste management and in the form of dry compost produced from processing organic waste. Then the fertilizer is given to the plants, which are documented by the students as the final report of the activity.
Amir Andy , Guspianto Guspianto, Oka Lesmana S, Lanita Usi Copyright (c) 2021 Jurnal Salam Sehat Masyarakat (JSSM) https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/16339 Mon, 11 Jul 2022 00:00:00 +0700 Edukasi Gizi Seimbang Dan Pemantauan Status Gizi Anak Usia 0-2 Tahun Pada Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) Desa Bukit Suban Kecamatan Air Hitam Kabupaten Sarolangun https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/15683
Good nutritional status of toddlers plays an important role in growth and development, especially during the golden period in the first five years. Poor nutritional status of children under five can have a negative impact on physical and mental growth, decreased body resistance, and a more serious impact is the emergence of disability, high morbidity and accelerated mortality. Based on data from the Jambi Province Dinsosnakertrans (2010), one of the health problems that often occurs in the SAD community is the low nutritional status. Problems of poverty, low levels of education and lack of knowledge in the SAD community make them susceptible to diseases that also have an impact on their nutritional status. Efforts that can be made to improve nutrition improvement programs in remote indigenous communities are to provide education and information to all tribal communities in Bukit Suban Village about the importance of balanced nutrition by making food sources that exist in nature and easy for them to find as examples and then teach how to process them. food so that it can be consumed and still contains good nutritional value. Furthermore, monitoring the nutritional status of toddlers by measuring and weighing the toddler's weight. Based on interviews with people who initially did not know about good balanced nutrition for children, now they know a little and they also know how to use food ingredients that are in their environment and how to process food properly and hygienically. undernutrition by 31.25%
Rumita Ena Sari, Fitria Eka Putri Copyright (c) 2021 Jurnal Salam Sehat Masyarakat (JSSM) https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/15683 Mon, 11 Jul 2022 00:00:00 +0700 Pendampingan Keluarga Sadar Gizi Seimbang di Desa Dwi Karya Bhakti, Kecamatan Pelepat, Kabupaten Bungo https://online-journal.unja.ac.id/JSSM/article/view/15707
Indonesia is still facing the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as Jambi Province. This community service aimed to increase PKK (Family Welfare Empowerment) cadres’s knowledge and skill as part of implementing family balanced nutrition behavior. These projects include: focus group discussions related to community nutrition problems, causes, and solutions by involving puskesmas, PKK cadres, and village governments; and also education and practice of balanced nutrition to 15 PKK cadres. The results of this community service showed that there is difference in the knowledge of PKK cadres in the application of balanced nutrition behavior compared to before participating in mentoring (test score from 84.7 to 93,3).
