Focus and Scope
Jurnal Karya Abdi Masyarakat (JKAM) | P-ISSN: 2580-1120 | E-ISSN: 2580-2178 is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal managed by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Universitas Jambi. The JKAM aims to publish original ideas, case studies, and research findings that contribute to the advancement of community service practices. The journal emphasizes interdisciplinary and participatory approaches that address real-world community issues. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
Community Services, People, and Local Food Security
This focus area includes initiatives aimed at improving community well-being through service-oriented actions. Topics may cover efforts to enhance local food availability, strengthen food systems, and promote sustainable agricultural practices that benefit the surrounding communities.
Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, and Design
This area encompasses programs related to capacity building, skills development, and knowledge transfer. It also includes innovative marketing strategies for local products, application of appropriate technologies, and design solutions tailored to local needs and conditions.
Community Empowerment, Social Access, and Social Science Initiatives
This area focuses on efforts that strengthen community capacity, promote inclusive development, and improve access to essential services and social infrastructure. It includes empowerment programs that enhance public participation, self-reliance, and community engagement. In addition, this category covers the application of social science approaches to explore and address social structures, cultural dynamics, community behavior, and public policy issues that affect local development and social well-being.
Student Community Services
This area highlights service-learning and community engagement initiatives led by students, often as part of university outreach programs. It aims to cultivate civic responsibility and practical learning experiences that positively impact both students and local communities.
Border Regions and Less Developed Areas
Focuses on community development programs in remote, underdeveloped, or border areas. The aim is to reduce disparities, promote social inclusion, and provide sustainable solutions in regions that face limited access to public services and infrastructure.
Education for Sustainable Development
Covers educational and outreach activities designed to promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and long-term development goals. This includes efforts to integrate sustainable practices into formal and non-formal education systems.
