Abstract

Obtaining, Using, Storing and Disposal of drugs (DAGUSIBU) is part of the Drug Awareness Family Movement (GKSO) initiated by the Indonesian Pharmacist Association (IAI) in achieving understanding and awareness of the correct use of drugs. People's lack of understanding regarding drug management can lead to undesirable things such as irrational drug use. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and attitudes of students towards the DAGUSIBU. The design of this research is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design using simple random sampling technique. Measuring knowledge and attitudes using a questionnaire instrument that has previously been developed and validated. Data were analyzed by chi-square test. The level of knowledge and attitudes of Dharma Andalas University students towards DAGUSIBU is in the good category, with scores of 70.49% and 75.4%, respectively. There is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes of Dharma Andalas University students (p<0.05). Students already have good knowledge and attitudes towards the proper use of drugs. This information can be used by policy makers and future researchers in designing research and interventions so as to increase students' knowledge and attitudes, as well as the general public towards the drug DAGUSIBU.
