Kajian Provitas Lahan Sulfat Masam Sumatera Selatan: Studi Kasus Desa Mulya Sari Kecamatan Tanjunglago

Pengembangan pertanian di lahan sulfat masam terkendala dengan kelarutan besi akibat keberadaan lapisan pirit. Pengelolaan yang salah akan berdampak sangat buruk terhadap produktivitas lahan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat produktivitas lahan sulfat masam yang mempunyai kadar pirit berbeda. Kajian dilakukan di Desa Mulayasari Kecamatan Tanjung Lago pada kadar pirit renah (0,45%) dan kadar pirit tinggi (6,39%), metode yang digunakan adalah wawancara dengan petani pemilik lahan, petani sekitar dan ketua kelompoktani. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan lahan sulfat masam dengan kadar pirit rendah, produksi lahan tetap setabil sedangkan pengelolaan lahan sulfat masam dengan kadar pirit tinggi dapat menghasilkan dengan pengaturan tata air dan masukan yang tinggi. Produksi padi lahan pada kadar pirit rendah mencapai 7-8 t/ha selama 5 tahu terakhir sedangkan pada lahan dengan kadar pirit tinggi produksi lahan sangat rendah yaitu antara 2,5-4 t/ha awal pembukaan lahan dan 5 tahun terakhir tidak panen.
